Spike is held captive in the Summers home while the Scoobies ponder their options in the aftermath of his murder spree. Willow finds Andrew buying blood and decides to take him prisoner also. After much questioning, the gang are interrupted by mysterious hooded figures called Bringers. They take Spike to Sunnydale High, where they use his blood to raise an old, mysterious vampire.

Emily insists that Lorelai and Rory come to Thanksgiving Day dinner, which causes the girls to be even more overbooked: they have already committed to three other feasts, including celebrations being held by Lane, Luke and Sookie. While dining at the Gilmore estate, Lorelai is floored to learn that Rory applied to Yale University without telling her.

After meeting his new editor Nick, Paul becomes quick friends with the man when he discovers they both have a common bond-being married fathers of teenage girls. But Paul soon learns that he may have something else in common with Nick-having the reputation of being an overprotective ''psycho dad'.' Meanwhile, Paul wants to make Thanksgiving a family affair, and forbids Bridget and Kerry from inviting their boyfriends to the festive feast.

Clark becomes involved with a Native American woman, Kyla, and becomes aware of ancient Indian prophecy that warns of a man of great powers who fell from the sky. Worse, a wolf-like creature is attacking the local Luthorcorp construction project, and Martha and Lionel may be the next victims.

Red gets Kitty a dog to get her mind off of other things.

George refuses to allow Jack to assist in Nina's interrogation. Jack resorts to blackmail to change George's mind.

Cheryl is thrilled when she is offered to be in charge of the set of the girls's Thanksgiving school play. She asks Jim to help her, and he's complaining they don't spend any time together because there's always someone around them. When they finally get alone on the set, they decide to be a little wild and do it behind the Plymouth rock. Unfortunately, Andy and the PTA president walk in on them. They promise to keep it quiet, but Jim and his big mouth brag about it with a divorced father who criticized married life. When Jim and Cheryl's sexual adventures are spread around the PTA board, Cheryl is fired from her set duties, and Jim, feeling guilty about it, stays up all night to finish the job for Cheryl.

Harm and Lt. Cmdr. Manetti travel to Naples, Italy when an Interpol officer believes someone aboard a US destroyer is a serial killer who has killed four women while on leave in European ports.

For nine months in 2000, Tom Hart Dyke was a captive of guerrillas who seized him while he was collecting wild orchids in the Colombian rain forest. Now Hart Dyke is at it again in the most orchid-rich and one of the most politically unstable parts of Irian Jaya, the western half of the island of New Guinea.

Niles recovers rapidly from his heart surgery and receives the go-ahead from doctors to resume normal activities, but seems reluctant to do this. He maintains his strict post-operative diet, and refuses to exercise or share a bed with Daphne. He annoys everyone by constantly going around making speeches about his near-death experience and how much he appreciates life. Frasier refuses to argue with Niles because he promised God that he would never quarrel with his brother again if he recovered from his sickness. The frustration of having to agree with everything Niles says begins to drive Frasier crazy, especially when Niles starts monopolizing his radio show to give his own advice to callers. Frasier believes he has found a way to back out of his promise after he learns that Daphne had already made her own deal with God. In the meantime, Martin talks with Niles about the feelings he experienced after his shooting, and forces his son to overcome his fears and go on with his life.
