Stardate: 53896 Torres and Kim crash the Delta Flyer on to an unknown planet. Whereas Kim was beamed down to the planet just before the crash, Torres stays aboard, and is injured in the crash. When she is found by one of the planet's people, he finds her a great source of material for his career as a playwright and actor. He decides to limit his medical help, as he is able to glean new material from her, in her distressed state. However, will his need to satisfy his benefactor interfere with the Torres' need to get the medical help she needs? Also, will Kim be able to find the crashed Delta Flyer in time to help Torres, and get them both back to Voyager?

Dawson invites Joey, Andie and Pacey to spend Spring Break in the mountains at his aunt's home, but the trip is filled with tension as Joey and Pacey continue to battle about their feelings for each other and Andie becomes intrigued with the gang's childhood friend Will who is visiting. Meanwhile, back in town, Jen becomes surprisingly territorial when another woman flirts with Henry.

Donna is upset by her mother's decision to sell the house. David hangs out with her at the apartment, and they both fall asleep on the couch. Donna pulls away from a kiss because she doesn't want to risk their friendship by becoming romantically involved. Felice and the gang grant Donna's wish for one final Christmas at the house. Steve, Janet and Felice set up an unwitting Donna and David on a date. They finally decide to get back together, and share a passionate kiss. Kelly and Matt set an August wedding date. Dylan infuriates Kelly with his wedding gift, a trip around the world for two. Matt considers a job offer in Seattle, and Kelly agrees to go with him. Although he fails to get the job, Matt suggests that they move anyway. Dylan unsuccessfully pleads with Kelly for another chance at their relationship. A man offers to purchase The Beat for $750,000. Janet would continue to work at the paper, while Steve would stay home with Maddy. They decide to give this arrangement a trial run. Steve initially feels emasculated, but comes to enjoy spending time with his daughter. Janet fears that she is missing out on the major events in Maddy's life. Noah helps convince Ellen's mother to let her spend time with her daughter, Caitlin. Ellen tells Noah that she doesn't have time to date him, as she must concentrate on being a good mother. Sam and Toby meet with the military to work out a better policy about gays in the military. Meanwhile, Josh tries to get Democrats nominated when two Federal Election Commission members resign and Leo has issues with the White House's e-mail system.

The mayor prepares for a three-day trip across New York on his new campaign bus. Paul and James grow mustaches when they think that Carter's gets him the best assignments. Nikki becomes a female version of Stuart when she consults him for dating advice. After Mike discovers that Trevor has asked Caitlin to marry him again, he accidentally hits him with the bus. Mike and Caitlin kiss but their session is interrupted when Mike reveals he was deliberately aiming for Trevor.

The body of a teacher, suspected of having an affair, is found in a car trunk and the investigation involves husband and father-in-law, both of whom are psychiatrists.

The boys attend the last American performance of Cirque du Cheville, and are entranced by the Vladchik Contorting Romanian Quintuplets. They try to make their own version of the circus, but Kenny's vocal limitations keep their vision from being realized. Meanwhile, the quintuplets run away from the tour with their grandmother, who does not want to go back to impoverished Romania. They stay at Stan's house, and after a night of passion between his grandfather and the Romanian grandmother, she dies. The Romanian government tries to get the girls to return in the custody of their estranged father, and Janet Reno sends the national guard in to help retrieve them.
