Paige suspects that Leo has erased Piper's memories of their relationship, but her attempted memory recovery spell accidentally causes Piper to lose all her other memories too. Phoebe and Paige go off to find Leo, but he is currently being held captive on Valhalla, an island controlled by amazon warrior women called Valkyries. Also, Phoebe becomes an Empath, and Paige is startled when she sees a dog turned back into a human.

Phoebe and Paige enlist Chris' help to go undercover as Valkyries, while the sight of Leo brings Piper's memories flooding back. While everyone else escapes, Piper decides to stay behind with Leo. Unfortunately, the angry Valkyries followed them through the portal back to San Francisco.

After waking up in Tokyo, Sydney tries to remember what has happened in the past two years, and comes to shock when she discovers that Vaughn in married, and about what has happened between Jack and Sloane.

Kathryn Morris stars as Philadelphia homicide detective Lilly Rush, who investigates long-unsolved crimes, otherwise known as Cold Cases. In the pilot episode, Lilly investigates a 1976 case involving a teenage girl who was beaten to death on a tennis court during a party at a plush estate. A maid to a wealthy family, Bonita Jakarta (Lillian Hurst), claims she witnessed the murder of teenager Jill Shelby (Kate Mara). Now dying of cancer, the maid who remained silent, wants the killer brought to justice. Rush reopens the case, in which two brothers were originally suspected but not charged due to their powerful society family.



Lilly interviews several witnesses: Jill's best friend Melanie (Lisa Waltz), and her boyfriend, Todd Whitley (D.W. Moffett) (who is now married to Melanie) and his troubled brother Eric (Michael Reilly Burke). The evidence points mostly to Eric, now a troubled alcoholic, but lawyer Todd has secrets of his own. Determined to uncover the truth, Lilly must force the Whitleys to confront their dark past despite resistance from everyone involved in the case, including the victim's mother (Elizabeth Franz).

A very pregnant Eames reveals that she has offered to be a surrogate mother and carry her sister's child; a famous architect's promiscuity becomes the key to solving the murder of a promising young designer who was his closest competitor for a prestigious commission.

When the authorities of the cash-poor Oklahoma town of Tipton refuses to let the carnival set up show, Samson takes Jones' advice and temporally reinvents the troupe as a religious-revival show with Ben as the center act of a healer. In Mintern, Brother Justin's promise to the migrants of their new church upsets his regular congregation whom despise the seedy people. Meanwhile, Ben and Sofie team up to continue to search for clues about his mysterious past when they meet with an ailing old woman outside Tipton who knew Henry Scudder, Ben's father.
