Enterprise encounters a large, otherworldly vessel unlike any the crew has seen before. They try to make contact with it, but to no avail. Suddenly, a large portal opens and the ship "swallows" Enterprise, rendering its weapons and engines useless. Luckily, life support is still operational. Archer, Trip and Reed take a shuttlepod into the cavernous ship for further exploration. Although there doesn't seem to be any immediate threat to Enterprise, Trip is suddenly attacked by a colorful wisp of smoke that seems to invade his body for a few seconds before releasing him. Back in Sickbay, Trip insists that he's fine. He explains that during his brief encounter with the alien wisp, he had an out-of-body experience and believed he was in Florida and visiting an old girlfriend.

Joey agrees to be Pacey's temporary assistant but their mutual jealousy leads to disaster in the office. Dawson sells his idea for a coming-of-age movie, but when the studio wants to change it to a teen sex film, he must decide whether to stick with his original concept.

The bachelorettes move into the Ladies Villa and prepare for the first round of group dates. Five women are sent home.

Andrew's friends come to the Ladies Villa and help arrange the next set of dates. At the rose ceremony, Andrew offers only seven roses to the ladies sending four women home.

A compatibility test determines Andrew's next round of dates. Then Andrew must choose four women to proceed to the next round.

Andrew visits the hometown of the remianing four ladies, but is faced with a hard decision as he must send one home.

Andrew takes the ladies on overnight dates. There are only three ladies left, but only two roses remain.

The 23 rejected women reunite and dish about Andrew and the third season of The Bachelor.

Upon hearing this, C.J. has to keep the news from a plane full of reporters and keep them off their cell phones at the same time while the crew checks out the problem. Tensions begin to rise both in the air and on the ground as people begin to wonder if the plane has been tampered with. Meanwhile, Josh and a Republican Congressman work on a Chesapeake Bay-cleanup bill.
