Juicy guest casting and ingenious plotting enliven an hourlong episode that airs in the plum post-Super Bowl slot. One storyline unfolds at Hal's company picnic, where Lois clashes with a blabby wife (Susan Sarandon) and her beleaguered spouse (Kaczmarek's real-life husband, Bradley Whitford); and Hal runs afoul of his new boss (Stephen Root) and the big cheese (Patrick Warburton). In Alaska, Francis's scheme to win a bet involves rigging a hockey game that pits loggers vs. a fearsome women's squad led by a blowhard coach (Terry Bradshaw).

After Hal is mistaken by his new boss, as that guy's boss, Hal plays along. Malcolm is in a three-legged scavenger hunt with the girl he likes, but becomes upset after he confesses he likes her, and she says she likes another boy. Reese is also the the scavenger hunt, and at first doesn't like the big dumb bully he is with, but they grow to like each other when they bond over beating up the other contestants and stealing their items. Lois continues to balance keeping Dewey intact and dealing with the crazy woman, but now must talk to the husband as well. Francis continues to sabotage his own team, this time on the ice.

Emma who is against sexism, and believes cheerleading is sexist. She discovers that her best friend, Manny is auditioning to be a cheerleader. Manny soon discovers that being a cheerleader is not that important, and agrees what Emma was talking about. Meanwhile, J.T., Toby, Liberty and Spinner team up together to get the ace of spaids and the ace of clubs so they could win ONE MILLION DOLLARS! Only at the end, they have both of one kind and the contest is now ended.

Carrie has a one-time, big-shot free-lancing opportunity at Vogue. She puts her heart and soul into a shoe article, which unfortunately isn't very well accepted by the female editor. After a lot of bonding with the male editor, Julian, Carrie finds herself completely swept off her feet with all the glamour of Vogue. When she is given the opportunity of her dreams - pick anything on the Vogue closet - she decides that no pair of shoes can replace her dignity as she is surprised by a pant-less Julian. Meanwhile, Samantha decides to give Richard a threesome for his birthday, and learns that one twenty year old bimbo doesn't get anywhere near her twenty year old experience. And Charlotte freaks out while hosting Miranda a baby shower after sees a present that brings her back to her past.

Still afflicted with tremors in his right hand as a result of his assault, Justin struggles in his art classes and soon drops out of college. Despite Brian's attempt to rekindle Justin's interest in drawing, a depressed, angry Justin turns to alcohol and sex to soothe his pain. Finally, Lindsay takes Justin to an art gallery where the paintings on exhibition have been created by a wheelchair-bound woman with limited use of her hands.

Said and Arif go to Warden Glynn about Lalar's murder. Angry and full of rage, Said then confronts White about passing drugs. Unsatisfied with White's response, Said beats White severely, which gets Said thrown in the hole. Chucky Pancamo's condition worsens. On orders from Schillinger, Winthrop gets into a fight with Guenzel. Schillinger goes to with a deal, he'll let Beecher work for him delivering mail to Keller if Beecher has Guenzel transferred to Gen Pop so Schillinger can have him. Keller discovers the feds have compelling evidence linking him to one of the past murders. Meanwhile, Howell makes her move on Keller, Rebadow's ship comes in...for someone else and Hill becomes gravely ill.
