Dawn's crush on a football jock named RJ begins to concern Buffy when she notices a drastic change in Dawn's behavior. Believing her sister's actions are borderline obsessive, Buffy decides to have a talk with RJ. However, upon meeting him, she ends up finding herself madly attracted to him as well. Believing that supernatural forces are at play, Anya and Willow take their shot at investigating, only to find themselves the next victims of RJ's love. With all four women willing to go to drastic lengths to prove their undying love for RJ, it is now up to Spike and Xander to get to the bottom of the situation and reverse the spell.

Stunt #1: Burning Building Contestants would have to climb a ladder and enter on the fourth floor of a firefighter training tower. Once inside, they would have to follow a hose line to a room where a fire was burning at upwards of 2,000 degrees, use the hose to put out the fire, find a rescue dummy in the smoke-filled room, and place the dummy in a basket outside the building. The two men and the two women to complete this stunt the fastest would advance to the next round. The others would be eliminated.

Jess buys a used car from Gypsy, and Luke worries where Jess got that kind of money. Luke is amused when he finally gets Jess to admit that he has a part-time job at Wal-Mart. Lane takes it as a personal affront that Jess would get his own car after totaling Rory's. Rory gets an invitation to Sherry's baby shower, and admits to Lorelai that she's been talking to Christopher a bit on the phone. Lorelai drives Rory to the shower and gets talked into attending as well by Sherry. Sherry drives Lorelai nuts with her perfection and her planning and her gushing about how incredible Christopher has been through everything. Lorelai fumes on the way home with Rory and deviled eggs that they were forced to take with them. Rory suggests they throw the deviled eggs at Jess's car for catharsis. It works. The town loner gets permission from the town church to stage a protest, but when his banner falls the wrong way and then rips, no one can figure out what he's protesting.

Jim is taking the girls to their first Bears football game, and Cheryl asks him to be a good role model and try his best not to swear in front of them. At the game, Jim picks a fight with a Packers fan who was swearing in front of the girls, and the entire fight is televised, with Jim getting the nickname of "Packers Smacker". He finds glory with such nickname, but Cheryl doesn't like it at all. It only hits Jim the effects his actions might have on his children when Ruby hits Gracie in the nose. Jim has to have a talk with Ruby and hear Cheryl says that the next time he finds himself in a situation like on the football game, that he should just think what she would do and do it. But Jim finds redemption when Gracie refuses to eat sundae fudge because she thinks her butt's too big something Cheryl was saying around the house not too long ago.

Frasier's son Freddy has turned 13 and is having his Bar Mitzvah in Boston. Frasier wants to deliver a blessing in Hebrew and asks KACL's Star Trek fan Noel to translate the blessing for him. In return, Noel asks Frasier to get Scott Bakula's autograph at a Star Trek convention. When Frasier misses the convention, Noel gets his revenge by translating Frasier's blessing into Klingon.
