A summer has passed since Aria, Emily, Hanna and Spencer found out about Mona being "A" and Maya's death. With the terror seemingly over and an alleged murderer now behind bars, the town of Rosewood is slowly healing from old and new wounds and trying to get back to normalcy. Each of the four girls spent their summer in different ways - Aria taking a photography class, Spencer taking college courses at Hollis, Hanna taking cooking classes with Caleb and Emily building houses in Haiti.

Peter and Jared to go all out to get a beverage executive as their next client but as usual bad luck is not far behind and could cost them this client as well as a possible promotion. Peter is smitten with a police officer.

Individuality is the theme for the first episode of season 2 of The Glee Project. Lea Michelle (Rachelle Barry in Glee) watches the 14 contestants perform Born This Way by Lady Gaga, as each contestant demonstrates their individuality. Lea chooses her favourite for a mentoring session, while everybody lays down vocals in the studio, learns choreography, and then films a music video for the song Here I Go Again by Whitesnake. The contestants deemed to be the bottom 3 have to do a last chance performance for Ryan Murphy.
