The 1st 8 houseguests for season 13 were recently revealed to the public. The additional 6 houseguests that are a secret for now will be revealed on this season's premiere episode tonight. The 6 houseguests from previous seasons are called "Dynamic Duos" hence the sub-titled season 13 logo. Each two houseguests are either related to each other in some way or they are in a relationship of some kind together stronger than a "showmance". Jason Thomas, a 26-year-old boxing promoter, was dropped from the list of houseguests due to "a casting decision" dropping the amount of new houseguests this season down to eight.

Nate returns to Miami to seek Michael's help to go after a loan shark who's harassing a widow. The guys soon discover that the loan shark is not all that he seems, however.

After starting the season with more tags than anyone, Troy's ahead of the game, and on pace to tag out by season's end. But as Troy's crew approaches today's hot spot, things don't look promising. The landscape has changed drastically and water lilies are now clogging the entire area. Across the bayou, Joe's hunting with his new helper, and so far, the team is working well. Meanwhile, when Judd's niece Becky has a personal situation that she can't talk to her mother Kristen about, she turns to her Uncle for advice.

Ryan gets into trouble when his neighbor Spencer visits to give Ryan his wallet back and find the one responsible for the break in.

After a comment by his daughter, Louie has misgivings about continuing to stay in the apartment they lived in when he was married and begins house hunting. After seeing several disastrous apartments, he finds the ideal place. Despite his accountant's assurances and his own awareness that it is very much out of his price range, Louie remains committed to the idea of buying it. In the end, he repaints his old apartment with his daughters by his side.

Callie refuses to fulfill her father's blood pact and marry Twayne, so Aldramak and Callie's mother get back together and have another daughter they name Lilith.

Alex has been crowned Wizard of the Year after saving the world from dark angels, as well as being reinstated in the Wizard Competition, and a banquet honoring her achievement is hosted. With paparazzi in tow, Chase Riprock visits the lair to congratulate Alex. As he leaves, Keith Keith hounds them about being in a romantic relationship, to which Alex states she already has a boyfriend. Later, Mason and Alex watch his gossip segment, and to their horror, Keith Keith confirms that Chase and Alex are dating. For Alex winning Wizard of the Year, the Russo family must record a holographic video congratulating Alex, however, much to Justin's displeasure, Justin's video instead only contains him complaining about Alex. The night of the awards banquet, Mason stands Alex up, leaving her devastated. At the banquet, Chancellor TootieTootie tells Justin that his display of affection and pride for Alex may reinstate him into the competition, causing Justin to be frantic and do everything within his power to destroy the tape. Chase purposely invites himself to sit at the Russo's table. However, Mason shows up late and sees Alex and Chase flirting together. A short battle ensues between Mason and Chase. Alex soon breaks up the fight, and is forced to choose either Mason or Chase. Appalled by both of their behaviors that evening, Alex chooses neither and breaks up with Mason.
