Why You Should Watch 'Constellation'

A beautifully filmed, mind bending, wibbly wobbly, timey wimey conspiracy thriller, Constellation sees Noomi Rapace (Django) and Jonathan Banks (from, well, lots of things, but Mike in Breaking Bad stands out) trying to unravel the secrets of the Universe (maybe) while revealing a few secrets of their own (probably). After an explosion on the International Space Station, Jo's perception of time and reality becomes unstuck. Events are not as she remembers them, people act differently, and cars have been repainted... Is it a conspiracy against just her? Or a elaborate prank that everyone is on? Or has she fallen through the universe, and ended up in the MCU? AppleTV's push into sci-fi has mostly been very watchable, and this looks to be no different. Prepare to go down all the rabbit holes.

Who Is In 'Constellation'?

Noomi Rapace, from the unutterably incompetent and ridiculous "Prometheus" (yes, it still haunts me over a decade later), is back in sci-fi mode! She is known for her genre roles, and having a strong relationship with Netflix, having been in a raft of films made by the streaming network, including "What Happened to Monday?", "Bright" and recently "Black Crab". As with her time in the Alien universe though, while she herself is an competent actor, the productions she has been in have left something to be desired. Let's hope the trend is broken with this move to Apple TV+.  

The Outstanding (literally, he has 13 "outstanding" award nominations) Jonathan Banks (Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul) portrays Bud Caldera, part of the crewed Apollo 18 moon mission. In the "real" world Apollo missions ended with #17, so something is squify. As well as being an astronaunt, he is chief scientist in charge of a zerp gravity quantum experiment that "may" be causing Jo some problems in her personal life. Get your Bingo card ready for when someone mentions Schrodinger... yeeesh.

When Will New 'Constellation' Episodes Be Released On Apple TV+?

Like most Apple TV+ shows, Constellation will drop the first three episodes back to back, on Wednesday the 21st of February 2024. Episodes will arrive weekly after that, until the end of March.
