"The fourth-and-final season of Tom Clancy's Jack Ryan finds the titular character on his most dangerous mission yet: facing an enemy both foreign and domestic. As the new CIA Acting Deputy Director, Jack Ryan is tasked with unearthing internal corruption, and in doing so, uncovers a series of suspicious black ops that could expose the vulnerability of the country. As Jack and the team investigate how deep the corruption runs, he discovers a far-worse reality - the convergence of a drug cartel with a terrorist organization-ultimately revealing a conspiracy much closer to home and testing our hero's belief in the system he has always fought to protect."

Why You Should Watch It

It feels like Season 3 of Jack Ryan only aired a few months ago, but oh, it did… just a scant six months separate it and the final season. Prior to that, there had been a THREE YEAR gap between season 2 and 3; something must have occurred… After "spreading freedom" around the world previously, Ryan finds him in charge of the CIA; but things aren't quiet at home. He'll go head to head with wide spread conspiracy and terrorist groups, and he'll have just six episodes to do it in. Two episodes a week of spy vs spy action drop from the end of June.

Who Is In It?

Obviously, Jack is back! John Krasinski takes up the Ryan mantle for one last time. No longer a field agent (we'll see...) Jack has saved the world one too many times, and has been promoted to Acting Deputy Director of the CIA. I doubt the season will have Ryan uncovering terrorist activities from behind a desk though, so bring on the action! No doubt he'll also rope his long suffering friend and former boss James Greer in the proceedings.

Michael Peña, more recently known for his fast talking scenes and latterly memes from the Ant-Man films, should take a sizeable role in the proceedings. Originally he was supposed to appear in the last episode of Season 3, but his scenes were cut, so he'll most likely just pop up and we are expected to know who he is. His character is a big deal, as he's currently slated to be getting his own spin off show after Jack Ryan ends.

Not seen since Season 1, Abbie Cornish returns as Cathy Mueller. While its probably her work as an epidemiologist might give us clues into the nature of the terrorist threat premating the season, Mueller has also been Ryan's fiancée and wife in other Tom Clancy related materials.

Not fully confirmed, but there are reports that Noomi Rapace (of Prometheus fame) might also reappear as a character not seen for a few years. Harriet Baumann, a member of the German Federal Intelligence Service was last seen in Season 2, helping Ryan by giving him a recording that started the fall of Nicolas Reyes, the Venezuelan Dictator.

When Will New Jack Ryan Episodes Be Released On Amazon Prime Video?

The first episode of the final season is scheduled to be released on Friday, 30th of June, 2023. Amazon Prime is airing this season differently to the other, which released 1 episode per week, for 8 episodes. Season 4 however, only has SIX episodes, playing out over 3 weeks. Ergo, 2 episodes a week will be available on the streaming platform. 

Fun Fact

Cannonically, (ie: in the books) Jack doesn't stop at being CIA Deputy Director, nor even the head of the agency. He takes the worlds problems on his shoulders and steps up the mantle and becomes the President of the whole United States of America. Talk about an over achiever!
