The show begins with a rousing game of Let's Make a Date in which Brad is a Puritan witch hunter who sees the devil everywhere, Colin is a pompous politician getting into a fight with his fiancee in the audience and Ryan is the head of Colin's angry ex-wfe sprouting from Colin's neck; "If You Know What I Mean", with Brad, Colin, and Ryan as hotel clerks; in "Duet", Brad and Wayne sing to Susie as the Rolling Stones; Title Sequence earns this episode its Too Hot title, when the audience suggests Cosby and Hitler, but instead, the guys perform the theme to Bill Cosby and the Insurance Agent; Scenes from a Hat, featuring how the cast of Baywatch would react to a real emergency, and if Tarzan and Tonto were roommates.
Brad wins, so the rest sing the director Hoedown.

Old and new friends gather at the Summers home for Buffy's 21st birthday party and it goes off without a hitch - mostly. Feeling neglected by Buffy and the Scoobys, Dawn's wish to keep people from leaving her is answered by Anya's demon friend Halfrek, who binds the attendees of the party to the house. When Tara tries a spell to free them, she only makes the situation worse by accidentally releasing a demon trapped inside a sword.

Michael uncovers a conspiracy at Metachem, when a guard is killed on duty. Michael enlists the aid of Max and Isabel when the investigation takes an alien turn. Meanwhile, Liz has entered boarding school in Vermont and tries to start a new life, and Maria disillusioned by New York goes to visit Liz in Vermont.

Christopher returns to town and brings his girlfriend, Sherry, along. Sherry wants to bond with Rory since her and Christopher are becoming serious. Emily finds out about Sherry and tells Lorelai that she has always wanted her and Christopher to end up together. Lorelai tells Christopher that she's always thought that they would get back together, too, and that's why she's never had a relationship that lasted. Christopher gets angry for Lorelai blaming him for her bad relationships, leaving Lorelai hurt while Luke watches.

On a class trip, Clark and a fellow student named Eric are struck by lightning, and because Eric was holding a piece of kryptonite, Clark's powers are transferred into him.

Kelso gets a job to pay for Jackie's Valentines present.

Palmer begins to form a two-year-old connection between himself and Jack Bauer.



Gaines meets with Drazen, the man behind the Palmer assassination plot. Drazen gives Gaines an unpleasant ultimatum that will result in the deaths of Teri and Kim.



Jack's interrogation of Cofell goes awry, but he discovers another familiar face who can lead him to his family.

After arguing with Kyle on the train, Keri decides she should start dating other people instead of pining for Kyle. She meets and makes a date with Tyler, and surprise, surprise, Kyle is more than a little bit jealous. His not-so-veiled negative remarks about the boy aren't lost on the other roommates and are definitely not lost on Keri. Which is fine, because she still really likes Kyle. After the date, she decides that Tyler's a nice guy but that playing the pseudo-dating game with Kyle is more fun.
Meanwhile, Theo's finally gotten comfortable in the houseâ?¦maybe a little too comfortable. He's taken to inviting large groups of people over to party, annoy everyone else, and puke in uncool places. The roommates aren't amused, especially Chris and Aneesa, who call Theo out for his actions. Theo refuses to apologize and says he'll "be damned if these people come down on [him] like [he's] a kid".
