After the kids blow up the store's steam cleaner, and Dewey confesses to stealing a $150 bottle of cognac, Lois's firing prompts household economizing to an extent that causes Malcolm mortifying embarrassment at school: Julie organizes a food-drive for his family. When Hal winds up in emergency with acute botulism as a result, Lois must re-think her position against apologizing to her odious boss, Mr. Pinter. Meanwhile, Francis thinks he's died and gone to heaven when he's assigned honor-guard duty at a Teenage Miss Alabama beauty pageant - until he discovers that all the girls think he's gay.

The Simpsons go to an Indian casino when their vacation plans fall apart. Bart encounters a wise Indian chief who tells him his future. Bart becomes a pot-smoking, unemployed slacker who has Ralph Wiggum as his roommate. He regularly begs a blinded Flanders for money (Rod and Todd are gay). Bart tries to lead a band, but he fails. With Lisa as the newly elected President of the United States, he goes to mooch from her. She is very ashamed of him and she is also busy trying to think of a way to get the United States out of debt. Meanwhile, Homer is busy trying to find Lincoln's gold. Lisa tries to hike taxes by using creative phrasing to trick everyone when Bart accidentally reveals that it is actually a tax hike. America owes money to a number of nations, so Lisa invites their leaders to Washington. She sends Bart away so he won't screw up everything again, but Bart manages to return and talks to the nations. Bart manages to save the day this time and with that, his vision ends and the family goes home.

A group of Buddhist monks suspects that Bobby might be the reincarnation of the Lama Sanglug. Bobby enjoys getting caught up in Buddhism, until he and Connie learn that Lamas are not allowed to have girlfriends.

The Cigarette-Smoking Man offers to show Scully the cure for all diseases if she travels with him, but on one condition: Mulder must not know about her trip.

A witness knows that Tony was there when Matt Bevilaqua was whacked, which makes Tony realize if he does not find the person, he will have to leave New Jersey. Tony and Richie Aprile work together to collect Davey's gambling debt. Pussy is contacted by Agent Lipari about Bevilaqua's death. Carmela becomes close to her new wallpaper guy, who happens to be Davey's brother-in-law.

When Leela discovers that she is not the last cyclops in the Universe, she makes plans to meet with Alkazar, a male cyclops who tells Leela how she became the last female of their race. When Leela accepts Alkazar's marriage proposal, Fry tries to convince her that Alkazar is all wrong for her and Fry and Bender set out to gather evidence before Leela walks down the aisle.

Betty manages to get into Armando's office and hide Claudia when Marcela enters and searches everywhere for her. Armando questions Betty about this Nicolás after overhearing a telephone conversation. Betty tells them that he's been giving his reports while working with Terramoda.
