Teams take off from the their Pit Stop at Fort Aleza in Maputo, Mozambique and are instructed to fly to Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania, 1,400 miles away. A scramble for flights immediately begins and teams find that flight placement in this leg plays a major role in where they will ultimately end up. One team makes a risky move in opting to take standby-only seats on a flight, which ultimately gains them valuable time and allows them to arrive in first. One team is disappointed when they believe they have secured seats on a flight, but are removed, told that they had been given the seats in error. Once in Mozambique, teams takes one of four dhows (ferries) into Zanzibar, where they then take part in a Roadblock that requires them to choose between either a task that "taxes the mind" or one that "taxes the muscles." They then traveled 15 miles by taxi to the "bush country" of Kikungwi for a Roadblock that involved skill and accuracy. In a leg that involved a great disparity between first and last, a close finish led to the elimination of another team.

When the fireproof safe (which was bought after one too many house fires) explodes, Homer and Marge try to recreate the photos, but when one of them uncovers a scandal in the background, Homer decides to join the world of paparazzi - forgetting what happened the last time he had a job that dealt in revealing other people's flaws to the public (in "Guess Who's Coming to Criticize Dinner?")

Even though he realizes his error, he begins to enjoy the attention that he gets from the family so much that he doesn't tell them the truth. However, when the family meets a mountain man and learns the truth, Stan has some explaining to do.

After a team switch-up that saw Nicole being sent over to Kinetic, the eight remaining candidates battle it out to sell the most tickets to the Universal Studios Hollywood theme park. Arrow sold more tickets and made more money for the win. For their reward, they took a high-flying journey above Los Angeles. Kinetic went to the boardroom, where, despite Nicole's bad rollerblading idea came into question, Angela was fired for her decent, but not stellar, leadership.
