First Hometown Date: Houston With: Matthew Meredith arrives in Houston to meet Matthew, and see how well country life agrees with her. She arrives at his family's ranch house, and Matthew takes her out to an oak grove for a picnic and some casual fun, climbing trees and swinging on a rope. They enjoy each other's company and continue to grow closer together. They return to the house and meet his father Ray, brother Chris, uncle Jerome and mother Carol. Carol immediately tells Meredith she shouldn't want some Yankee-boy, she should want a nice, quiet Southerner. Ray tells the couple he's not sure how they could meet and grow so close in so short a time, but he can see how comfortable they are with each other. Matthew mentions that they feel like they've been together much longer than they have.
Meredith seems to hit it off with the family, and is at ease with this very down-to-earth family. They go inside for dinner, where Carol reads them a very nice toast, and they dine together.

As Enterprise heads for the red giant star that Archer believes to be the location of the Xindi weapon, the ship encounters a massive spatial distortion. They discover a small craft within the anomaly and pull it to safety. Inside the craft, they find an unconscious alien being hooked up to monitoring equipment. The alien, notes Phlox, is suffering from rapid cellular degeneration. Once revived, the alien insists on being returned to his ship, but Archer can't help but be suspicious of his motives.

After Pete refuses to throw a street race, the thugs that run it threaten his life, so he asks Clark to use his powers to stop them. Furious that Pete would put himself in this position, Clark must figure out a way to save Pete and still protect his secret. Meanwhile, Jonathan begins to suffer the consequences of his deal with Jor-El.

After countless times of babysitting Deacon and Kelly's children, Doug and Carrie feel that Deacon and Kelly should return the favor and babysit Arthur every once in a while. Deacon and Kelly decide to take Arthur out to dinner so Doug and Carrie can be alone, but they ignore a warning about Arthur's reaction to spicy food.

Doug and Carrie run into Doug's ex-girlfriend Trish at an art gallery. Doug explains to his wife that Trish took their breakup pretty hard.
